Our mission is simple: to bring a taste of India's street food culture to the modern quick service scene, served fresh, fast, and full of flavour. Everything is customisable, with homemade sauces made fresh in house.
We serve a limited menu because we believe in offering a few very good options over several mediocre ones.
Our people
Imran & Ahmed built Chai & Chutney on their shared love for authentic Indian food, quality service, and proper chai! The best friends from school moved to Bath in 2019 to attend university. Since then we've built a small team of amazing people who share the same passion as us.
Our story
From a uni kitchen to the high street.
It all started at university, when busy schedules meant quick meals were a must — but they also had to be yummy. We began wrapping homemade Indian curries into tasty, easy-to-eat wraps, and that idea stuck with us.
Years later, we brought it to life at St Nicholas Market in the heart of Bristol. The response and support was amazing, and that pushed us to go further.
We opened our first store on Twerton High Street, Bath in September 2025, and we're incredibly grateful to the local community who have been so kind and supportive!
